VIP Multicast Paging - Polycom, Yealink, Snom

Multicast Paging on Polycom Phones

The following override creates two page groups: group 1 is "All Page" and group 2 is "Sales". Devices with these settings will be able to send pages to both groups.

ptt.pageMode.enable="1" (Not needed with Crexendo — loaded at a higher level for all Domains)
ptt.pageMode.group.1.label="All Page"
ptt.pageMode.group.2.label="Sales"
feature.nonVolatileRingerVolume.enabled="1"
np.normal.ringing.toneVolume.chassis="1000"
np.normal.alert.messageWaiting.tonePattern="silent"

Subscribing to Page Groups

In order to receive pages, individual devices must subscribe to one or more page groups.

Subscribe to Sales group only (group 2):

ptt.pageMode.group.2.subscribed="1"

Subscribe to both All Page (group 1) and Sales (group 2):

ptt.pageMode.group.1.subscribed="1"
ptt.pageMode.group.2.subscribed="1"

Multicast Address & Port

The default multicast IP address used by Polycom phones is 224.0.1.116. The default multicast port is 5001. Default values may be changed with the following overrides:

ptt.address="224.0.1.117"
ptt.port="5003"

For more information on multicast paging with Polycom devices, see this guide.

Multicast Paging on Yealink Phones

The following override consists of two parts:

  1. The listen override lines allow devices to receive pages from other devices.
  2. The linekey override lines allow devices to send pages to other devices.
# LISTENING — Add to all phones or as a Domain override (Note: Yealinks cannot listen on Line 1)
multicast.listen_address.2.ip_address="224.5.6.20:10008"
multicast.listen_address.2.label="page all"

# ADD A BUTTON TO SEND PAGES
linekey.2.type="24"
linekey.2.value="224.5.6.20:10008"
linekey.2.label="Page All"

# Prevents an active call from being interrupted by an incoming page
multicast.receive_priority.priority="0"

Multicast Paging on Snom PA1 Phones

Snom PA1 as Multicast Listener

mc_address1="224.0.1.116:5001"

Snom PA1 as Multicast Relay

The Snom PA1 can be configured to take Unicast RTP and relay it to Multicast. You can set up the Snom PA1 as an extension, call that extension, and the PA1 will broadcast the audio to its own output and to a configured multicast address.

multicast_relay_address1="224.0.1.116:5001"
Note: The Snom PA1 cannot be configured as both a Listener and a Relay at the same time.

Single Page Group Polycom Only Accounts

Domain Level

Receive Only Override

Feature.showPagingSoftKey.enable="0"

Device Level

Send — One-Touch Override

softkey.3.label="All-Page"
softkey.3.action="1$APageGroup$"
softkey.3.enable="1"
softkey.3.use.idle="1"
softkey.3.insert="3"
softkey.3.precede="0"
efk.softkey.alignleft="1"
Note: By default Crexendo loads ptt.pageMode.enable="1" to all Domains through NDP Polycom Defaults to add the Paging button to all Polycoms. You only need to apply the Receive Only override at the Domain level if you want to prevent all Polycoms on the account from paging.

For mixed phone manufacturer accounts, apply the Domain Level override for listen only at the Device level instead for the listen only devices.

The Send — One-Touch override is intended for single paging group Polycom accounts. It replaces the traditional Paging button with a direct softkey, removing the extra menu step.
