EVP: How to Enable CAIRO AI Assistant for a Domain - Admin Guide

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Log in to the Crexendo Marketplace using the correct CSP short name
  • Enable CAIRO AI Receptionist for a specific customer domain
  • Verify the system objects created automatically (ConfigUI + AI Receptionist system user + answering rule routing)

Introduction

This guide outlines the steps for enabling CAIRO AI Receptionist on a customer's domain via the Crexendo Marketplace.


Prerequisites

  • CAIRO needs to be published to your platform
  • A Support user with Superuser privileges is required to log in to the NetSapiens portal for authentication to the Crexendo Marketplace.
  • Access to the Crexendo Marketplace: https://marketplace.crexendo.com
  • The customer domain name you need to enable

Steps:

  1. Login to the Crexendo Marketplace
    Log into the CSP portal. There are three different ways to log into the MarketPlace as Super User. 

Reminder:

MarketPlace uses SSO and factors in the user's scope they are logged into their NetSapien's portal with (Super User/Office Manager).

 

 

  1. Access the CAIRO AI Receptionist App
    Scroll down below the Spotlight Apps and locate the Enabled Apps section.
    Click on the CAIRO app.

  1. ((((ADD FORK FOR SU to Approve or OM to request app))))
  2. Manage Domains
    Click the Manage Domains option.
    Click Add to begin the domain enablement process.

    Search for the desired domain and click Add to enable CAIRO AI Receptionist for that domain.
  3. Verify CAIRO Has Been Enabled and Configured
    A ConfigUI (CXDO_MKTPLACE_CAIRO) will be automatically generated for the domain.
    1. NOTE: Editing any of the UI Config's directly may effect the availability or functioning of CAIRO. Do not edit the automatically generated CAIRO UI Config.

      A System User labeled AI Receptionist will be created within the domain.

      The Answering Rule for the AI Receptionist user will be automatically set to route calls to CAIRO.

Next: Once the above steps are completed and verified, the Office Manager can proceed to access and configure their AI Receptionist from the VIP Portal.

 

Tips and Warnings

If the Office Manager is already logged in when this is configured, they will need to log out and log back in for the CAIRO tile to appear in the navigation row.

Troubleshooting

I can’t log in to the Marketplace / authentication fails

  • Confirm you used the correct CSP Short Name: crexendovip.
  • Verify you are using a Support user with Superuser privileges.
  • Try a private/incognito browser window to avoid cached credentials.

I enabled the domain, but I don’t see the AI Receptionist user or ConfigUI

  • Refresh the domain view and confirm the correct domain was enabled.
  • Re-open the CAIRO app → Manage Domains and confirm the domain shows as enabled.
  • If objects still do not appear, escalate to the marketplace/admin team per your internal process.

The Office Manager doesn’t see the CAIRO tile in VIP Portal

  • Have the Office Manager log out and log back in.
  • Confirm CAIRO was enabled on the correct domain.
