Grandstream Supported Devices & Minimum Firmware

Purpose: This guide lists Grandstream devices supported by Crexendo and the minimum firmware version required for each model. 
Important: Devices should be on the listed version or newer unless directed otherwise by Crexendo Support.

Supported Grandstream Devices & Minimum Firmware

Before you update: If your phone is managed/provisioned by Crexendo, avoid manual firmware changes unless instructed. Manual updates can cause provisioning or feature issues if the incorrect firmware branch is used.

Tip: Use Ctrl + F / Cmd + F to find your model quickly (example: “GRP2615” or “GXP-2160”).

How to Check Your Grandstream Firmware

  1. On the phone, press Menu (or open Settings).
  2. Navigate to Status or System Information (wording varies by model).
  3. Locate Firmware Version and compare it to the tables above.
Pass criteria: If your firmware is equal to or higher than the minimum listed for your model, you meet the requirement.

Troubleshooting

My firmware is lower than the minimum

  • If your device is provisioned by Crexendo, do not manually update unless instructed.
  • Contact support and provide:
    • Phone model (example: GRP2616)
    • Current firmware version
    • MAC address (if available)

My model is not listed

  • The device may be unsupported or not approved for this environment.
  • Contact Crexendo Support with the exact model number and current firmware version.

The phone won’t provision or behaves oddly

  • Power cycle the phone (unplug/replug).
  • Confirm the device is running a supported firmware line for your model.
  • Contact Crexendo Support for verification and next steps.

FAQ

Do I need the exact firmware listed?

No. The listed version is the minimum. Newer versions are typically acceptable unless Crexendo advises otherwise.

Firmware impacts security, stability, and provisioning/feature compatibility.
