This guide explains how to install the Tango Extend business eSIM and use your mobile device in a dual persona (Personal + Business) configuration. Instructions are organized by device type: Apple iPhone, Samsung, and Google Pixel.
Who is this Guide For?
- All End Users who have been assigned a Tango Extend business eSIM
What You’ll Need
- Your mobile device (iPhone / Samsung / Google Pixel)
- Your Tango Extend eSIM activation details (typically a QR code or activation info from your organization)
- Stable internet connection (Wi-Fi recommended during setup)
Important Notes
- You will have two lines: your Personal (Primary) line and your Business (Extend) line.
- In several workflows, the phone will prompt you to select which line to use. Always confirm the correct line before placing calls.
Apple iPhone
eSIM Installation Recommendations (iPhone)
- On your iPhone, go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data). Select Add eSIM.

- Select Use QR Code and scan the QR code provided for your Business eSIM.

- When prompted to label the line, choose a label for the Business line. Recommendation: Use Business (or your organization’s preferred label, e.g., “Extend”).

- Set your Default Voice Line to your Primary/Personal line.
- Set iMessage & FaceTime to use only your Primary/Personal line.
- Set Cellular Data to use your Primary/Personal line.
Post eSIM Installation (iPhone)
- Confirm VoLTE is enabled:
Go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data) > (select Business line) > Voice & Data and ensure VoLTE is enabled. - Confirm your Business number is present:
Go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data) > (select Business line) and verify your Business number is shown. If it is missing, enter your fully qualified number.
iMessage Configuration (Recommended)
While iMessage may be supported with your Business eSIM/number, it is not recommended to enable iMessage for the Business eSIM. If you previously enabled iMessage for the Business line and want to disable it:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Messages > Send & Receive.
- Ensure only your Personal identity/number is checked for receiving iMessages.

Making an Outgoing Call (iPhone)
From the Keypad
- Open the native Phone app and go to Keypad.
- Tap the line selector at the top and choose Use Extend Line (your Business line).
- Dial the number and tap Call. The called party will see your Business number.
From Recents
- Open the native Phone app and go to Recents.
- Recents shows calls from both lines. iPhone tags each entry using the first letter of the line label. Tap an entry to call it back—iPhone automatically uses the associated line for that entry.
From Contacts

- Select a contact, then tap Edit.
- Tap Preferred Line and set it to the Extend (Business) line. Tap Done.
From a Webpage or Email
Tapping a phone number link typically uses the phone’s Default Voice Line. It’s recommended your Default Voice Line stays set to Personal, so calls initiated this way may go out on your Personal line.
Workaround (Recommended):

- Open the Phone app > Keypad, paste the number.
- Select Extend (Business) line, then place the call.

- After answering, the in-call screen continues showing the same line indicator for the active call.
Note: The Message function is not supported with the Extend line on iPhone.
Call Hold & Conference (iPhone)

Troubleshooting
My Business (Extend) line isn’t showing up after installation
- Confirm the eSIM is installed and enabled in your device cellular/SIM settings.
- On iPhone: verify the Business number is present under Settings > Cellular (Mobile Data) > Business line. If missing, enter the fully qualified number.
- Restart the device and re-check line visibility.
- If the issue persists, contact your organization’s support team to confirm your Extend eSIM is provisioned/active.
Calls are going out on the wrong line
- Before calling, confirm you selected Extend/Business in the dialer prompt or line toggle.
- On iPhone: calls made by tapping a number link (web/email) will typically use your Default Voice Line. Use the copy/paste method to ensure Extend is used.
- For frequent contacts, set the contact’s preferred/default calling SIM/line to Extend (steps vary by device type above).
FAQ
What is “dual persona” / “dual SIM”?
Dual persona (dual SIM) means your phone has two separate cellular lines: a Personal line and a Business (Extend) line. You can choose which line to use for calls depending on context.
Will people see my Personal number when I call from Extend?
No—when you place a call using the Extend line, the called party should see your Business number. If they see your Personal number, re-check the line selection before calling.
Can I conference calls from the Extend line?
Yes. Extend supports call hold and add-call/conferencing from the native phone in-call screen. See the Call Hold & Conference section for your device type.
Can I use iMessage for messages on IPhone?
Yes, if iMessage is configured for the Extend Number, the messaging will bypass UCaaS integration (NetSapiens).
