What's New in Your Phone System
A quick look at your upcoming update
Your phone system will soon be updated to v45. This is a bigger release with several new features, so here's a simple rundown of what's new and what's improved — no technical background needed. Your service provider handles all the installation and setup, so there's nothing you need to do.
What's New
A New, Unified Sign-In Experience
Signing in now looks and works the same way no matter which app you're using — Portal, WebPhone, or others. You'll be taken to one login screen and automatically routed to the right place. Organizations can also require extra sign-in protections, like single sign-on, for added security.
Simpler Phone Setup
Setting up new desk phones is easier. The passwords used to securely provision a phone can now be managed directly in the Portal instead of a separate system, making setup faster for whoever configures your phones.
Longer Call Record Retention
Call detail records used for things like call traces can now be kept in long-term storage that's more cost-effective, while still being available right in the Portal when needed.
Call Recording Integration with Call Cabinet
If your organization records calls, there's now an option to integrate with Call Cabinet for secure recording storage and advanced recording analytics.
Crexendo Marketplace
Adding third-party integrations just got easier with the new Crexendo Marketplace, giving you a simple way to browse and add extra tools to your phone system.
Text Messaging in Queues on WebPhone
Agents can now send and receive text messages through SMS Queues right from WebPhone, making it easier to manage customer conversations.
Improvements You May Notice
Along with the new features above, this update includes a number of behind-the-scenes fixes. Here are the ones that may affect your day-to-day experience:
- Voicemail Notifications: You'll now be notified on your device for every type of incoming voicemail, including through the installed app when it's closed or running in the background.
- Missed Calls: The missed calls count on WebPhone's home screen now clears properly after you've viewed your missed calls.
- WebPhone Sessions: If you open WebPhone in a new window or tab, you'll now be asked whether to move your active session there, preventing mix-ups between multiple open sessions.
- Reporting Accuracy: Fixed several issues affecting Call Center Reports, so the statistics you see are accurate and consistent with what's documented.
- Caller ID Display: Corrected the order Caller ID and emergency (E911) numbers appear in dropdown lists.
- Clearer Wording: Improved text and translations across the Portal, WebPhone, and other apps for a clearer, more consistent experience.
- Premium Video Plans: Premium Video is now offered as complete plans with the features you need built in, rather than separate add-ons.
- Text Message Replies: Standard STOP and HELP replies are now supported for text messages. If your business uses SMS queues, note that the default word customers text to join a queue has changed from HELP to JOIN.
