Yealink T74W Quick Start Guide

Overview

This quick reference guide explains how to perform common calling functions on the Yealink SIP-T74W desk phone. It is intended for Crexendo phone users who need a fast reference for placing, answering, transferring, and managing calls.

Basic Call Handling

Making a Call

  1. Pick up the handset, press Speaker, or press Headset.
  2. Dial the phone number or extension.
  3. Press the Call soft key.

You can also enter the phone number or extension first and then select the desired calling method.

Answering a Call

When the phone rings, use one of the following methods:

  • Pick up the handset.
  • Press Speaker to answer using speakerphone.
  • Press Headset if a compatible headset is connected.
  • Press the Answer soft key when displayed.

Ending a Call

Hang up the handset or press End Call. When using speakerphone or a headset, you can also press the corresponding button again.

Putting a Call on Hold

  1. During a call, press Hold.
  2. Press Resume to return to the call.

Mute

Press Mute during a call to silence your microphone. Press Mute again to unmute.

Speakerphone

Press Speaker to place or answer a call hands-free.


Transferring Calls

Blind Transfer

A blind transfer sends the caller directly to another extension or phone number without speaking to the recipient first.

  1. While on a call, press Transfer.
  2. Dial the destination extension or phone number.
  3. Press B Transfer or the displayed blind-transfer option to complete the transfer.

Attended Transfer

An attended transfer allows you to speak with the transfer recipient before connecting the original caller.

  1. While on the original call, press Transfer.
  2. Dial the destination extension or phone number.
  3. Place the call to the transfer recipient.
  4. After the recipient answers, announce the caller.
  5. Press Transfer again to connect the calls.
Note: Available transfer options may vary depending on your phone configuration and Crexendo phone-system settings.

Conference Calls

  1. While on a call, press the Conference soft key.
  2. Dial the next participant.
  3. Place the call.
  4. After the participant answers, press Conference again to join the calls.

Voicemail and Redial

Voicemail

Press the Message button and follow the voice prompts.

Your phone system administrator may configure the voicemail destination or voicemail feature differently.

Redial

Press Redial to display recently placed calls. Select the desired call and place the call again.


Call History and Contacts

Call History

Press the History soft key to review available call records, including placed, received, and missed calls.

Contacts

Press the Directory soft key to access the phone's configured contact directory.


Volume Controls

Use the Volume – / + keys to adjust audio levels. The type of volume adjusted depends on the phone's current state.

Phone State Volume Adjusted
Phone is idle Ringer volume
Handset call Handset volume
Speaker call Speaker volume
Headset call Headset volume

Use the directional navigation keys to move through menus. Press OK to select an item.

Tip: While the phone is idle, press OK to display phone status information, including the phone's IP address.

Programmable Keys

Your administrator can configure the Yealink SIP-T74W's programmable line/DSS keys for phone-system functions such as:

  • Extensions and line appearances
  • Speed dial
  • Busy Lamp Field (BLF)
  • Call park
  • Paging
  • Other Crexendo phone-system features

Programmable key behavior may differ between users because these keys are configured by your administrator.
