Making a Call
- Enter the phone number or extension using the keypad.
- Press the green Call key to place the call.
- To use speakerphone, press the Speaker key during the call.
You can also place a call by selecting a contact or a number from Call History and pressing the green Call key.
Answering a Call
When the phone rings:
- Press the green Call key to answer.
- Press the Speaker key to answer using speakerphone.
- Press the red End key to decline the call.
Ending a Call
Press the red End/Power key to end the call.
Putting a Call on Hold
During an active call:
- Press the Options soft key.
- Select Hold.
To return to the call, select Unhold/Resume.
The WP820 supports standard hold and resume functions.
Transferring a Call
Blind Transfer
A blind transfer sends the caller to another extension or phone number without waiting for the receiving person to answer.
- During the call, press Options.
- Select Transfer.
- Enter the extension or phone number.
- Complete the transfer without waiting for the other person to answer.
Attended Transfer
An attended transfer allows you to speak with the receiving person before connecting the original caller.
- During the call, place the caller on hold.
- Call the person you want to transfer the call to.
- After speaking with them, select Transfer to connect the calls.
The WP820 supports both call transfer and multiple active-call handling.
Conference Call
The WP820 supports 3-way conferencing.
- While on a call, place the first caller on hold.
- Call the second participant.
- Once connected, select the conference option to join the calls.
Mute
During a call, press the Mute option or key to mute your microphone.
Press it again to unmute.
Speakerphone
Press the Speaker key during a call to switch between the handset earpiece and speakerphone.
The WP820 provides HD audio through both the handset and speakerphone.
Voicemail
Press and hold the configured Voicemail key to access your voicemail box, then follow the voice prompts.
The WP820 supports a press-and-hold shortcut for opening the voice mailbox.
Redial
Press the appropriate Call/Redial option while the phone is idle to call a recently dialed number.
You can also open Call History, select a previously dialed number, and press the green Call key.
Call History
From the Home screen, select History.
You can view:
- Missed calls
- Received calls
- Dialed calls
Highlight a number and press the green Call key to call it.
Contacts
- Open Contacts from the phone menu.
- Select a contact.
- Press the green Call key to place a call.
Volume
Use the Volume Up/Down buttons on the side of the handset.
- While idle: Adjusts the ringer volume.
- During a call: Adjusts the call volume.
- During speakerphone use: Adjusts speaker volume.
Navigation Keys
Use the directional navigation pad to move through menus and options.
Press the center OK button to select an item.
The soft keys directly below the screen change depending on what is displayed.
Connecting to Wi-Fi
The WP820 is a Wi-Fi phone and must be connected to an available wireless network.
- Press Menu.
- Go to Settings → Network Settings → Wi-Fi.
- Turn Wi-Fi On.
- Select Wi-Fi Settings.
- Choose the desired wireless network.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password if prompted.
A Wi-Fi icon appears at the top of the screen when the phone is successfully connected.
Charging the Phone
Place the WP820 into its charging cradle when not in use.
The WP820 is rated for up to 7.5 hours of talk time and 150 hours of standby time, depending on use and battery condition.
Turning the Phone On or Off
Press and hold the Power/End key until the display turns on or off.
